We sail for Naples

Captain’s Log, May 30th:  We set sail yesterday a little early, at 5pm, as the tide was in our favor, and all our passengers had returned from the official trips into Genoa.
Four passengers, who had ignored our advice about traveling independently, failed to arrive on time, and were left behind. We had a phone call from them just as we left port, asking us to go back for them, but it was made clear that schedules for a ship like this are sacrosanct, and if they wish to rejoin the ship, they should do so at Naples.
Tomorrow will be a day at sea, so thank goodness I’ll have a rest from the grumbling of some of the passengers.
