We Visit Genoa
Captain’s Log, May 29th: Finally we were able to move on from Toulon, and made a speedy journey along the coast, from France to Italy.
Our stop in Genoa has been eagerly anticipated and most passengers are now off the ship. Some have grumbled that our ship is actually at Vado Ligure, rather than Genoa itself, but this has been necessary due to the outrageous port fees charged in Genoa itself. In any case, it’s only a one-hour journey by coach into Genoa, and we’ve set a modest charge of $180 for the return ticket.
For those who don’t wish to pay this charge, they are of course welcome to stroll the dock area at Vado Ligure. Some passengers have decided, against our advice, to use public transport to go into Genoa, but they have been warned that if they don’t return on time, for the departure at 6pm, the ship will sail without them.
